President's Message

Dear fellow Rotarians,

We are now in the second month of our Rotary Service this year. And last month was indeed a great way to Celebrate Rotary; we had implemented several projects according to our plans.

Only last Saturday, July 31, 2004, we had our Medical-Dental Mission in Barangay Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite. We were able to treat 300 medical patients and 121 dental patients with full dosage of medicines that day. The Mission, which is originally set in October, happened early thru the kind heart of our major sponsor, Dr. Jojo Andaman of St.  Dominic Medical  Center with the help of PP Jess Cabel and Zone Administrator Dante Quindoza. Dr. Andaman wanted to share his blessings in celebration of his birthday last July 30, 2004 and also the Foundation Day of Saint Dominic Medical Center. Thank you Dr. Jojo and belated happy birthday. Our sincerest thank also to Cavite Economic Zone and Cavite Export Zone Investors Association for providing additional medicines especially for the dental. I would also  acknowledge the presence and support of the following: Chairperson of the project, Dir. Amy Llave, IPP Gabe Trias, PP Jess Cabel, PP Boyet Castro, Sec. Marni Sy, Treas. Ony Ferrer, Zone Administrator and Rtn. Dante Quindoza, Rtn. Connie Gonzaga, Baby Rtn. Norma Valeroso and Rotaract Sec. Fritzie Gonzaga. Special thanks to our Rotarian Dentists Jackie Lontoc and Ric Baydo and Ann who led the dental group of the mission, to the other two dentists invited by Rtn. Ric Baydo and to the five doctors and staff of Saint Dominic Medical Center led by their Medical Director, Dr. Oscar Tinio.

I apologize for my absence in the 4th week of our Feeding Program last July 30, 2004. Zone Administrator Dante Quindoza and I had a meeting with some personnel from our Head Office. But the activity was again well administered by Dir. Amy Llave with IPP Gabe Trias, Sec. Marni Sy, Baby Rotarians Norma Valeroso and Weng Bautista, and Rotaract Jeff. Thanks for your consistent support to the project.

An erratum in my message last week, the District Rotaract Handover Ceremonies was not featured in Manila Bulletin but in our weekly bulletin- Exponents. Sorry for the misinformation.

Tonight in our fellowship is a despedida party for PP Ramir Lallana who will migrate to Canada with his family. PP Ramir was one of the most awarded Presidents during the Rotary Year 1998-1999. So it is only but proper that we give recognition to a man who continuously give his valuable contribution for the success of our club. Good luck and Godspeed PP Ramir! Hope you will continue Celebrate Rotary with us even you are in Canada.
