Ronilo "Nilo" Nepomuceno
Dear fellow Rotarians,
It is really hard to start and go back to "normal" after long holidays. But for the Rotary and the Rotaract Club of CEPZ, it is back to work at first working day of the new year 2005; because at 1:00 pm of January 3, 2005, the 18 delegates from the Rotaract Club of City University of Hongkong headed by President Lam Siu Hung had arrived. From NAIA, they went directly to Cavite Economic Zone and paid a courtesy call to Zone Administrator & Rtn. Dante Quindoza, afterwards they went to South Gold Garments Corp. and Hayakawa Electronics Phils. Corp. for plant visits. At 5:00 pm, they had a gift-giving with RAC CEPZ at Prgy. Tejeros Convention in Rosario, Cavite. They personally distributed the toys, which they shipped to the Philippines one week before, to the children of the said barangay. As the last activity for that day, a Cultural Nighst was hosted by RC CEPZ and RAC CEPZ, wherein the two Rotaract Clubs exchanged cultural presentations and signed a sister club agreement. My sincerest gratitude to District Governor Joel Tinitigan for gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. My special thanks also to those generous and hospitable Rotarians who shared their home and extend a night of accommodation to our visiting Rotaractors. Day two was a busy but a fun filled day for the two Rotaract Clubs; RAC CEPZ toured their visitors to the historic and scenic places of Cavite such as the Aguinaldo Shrine, Tagaytay City and Hardin sa Postema Resort in Tanza, Cavite. I congratulate everybody especially IPP Gabe, Sec. Marni, Pres. Grace and the rest of RAC CEPZ for the success of this event. Hopefully we will have our turn in going to Hongkong.
Since we did not have the two issues of our bulletin for the last two weeks of December 2004 because IPP Gabe had his vacation in the U.S., I would take this opportunity of congratulating and thanking everyone for the success of the Ten Most Outstanding Workers of CEZ 2004. My sincerest appreciation to our Board of Judges led by our Vocational Service Director Anne Bawalan, SDG Danny Reboya, and Mr. Teddy Guererro, former RC CEPZ member and now Executive Director of the Pollution Control Association of the Phils. Special thanks also to Senator Bong Revilla for donating Php 1000,000 cash prize.
Last Friday, January 7, we had also resumed our feeding program for the 19th week. There were 220 malnourished children who consumed the food donated by Mr. Ran Artsi from USA and Caldejon Construction. Thanks to our donors, and IPP Gabe and Dir. Amy for taking charge of the activity.
Although we are already in the second semester and we are almost through in our projects, let us not forget that our year of service will officially end on June 30, 2005, so let us keep our enthusiasm to serve and continue CELEBRATE ROTARY!
