Ronilo "Nilo" Nepomuceno
Dear fellow Rotarians,
Last Friday, January 14, 2005 was the 20th week of our weekly feeding program. Thanks again to Mr. Ron Artsi and Caldejon Construction for being the sponsors for two consecutive weeks. My sincerest thank also to those Rotarians who supervised the feeding of 225 malnourished children- IPP Gabe Trias, PN & Community Service Dir. Amy Llave, Sec. Marni Sy, and Mr. Erwin Hidalgo, a friend and donor of RC CEPZ.
Time flies so fast, it seems that the July 3, 2004 Centennial Handover and Induction Ceremony had just happened and yet we are now in our second semester of service in this centennial year of Rotary. In fact, this coming January 22 to 23 is our Mid Year Review Report in Lagos del Sol Resort in Cavinti, Laguna. This is a District event wherein all the Presidents of the Rotary Clubs in the District are required to submit a written report and an oral presentation of what they had accomplished for the first semester of a Rotary Year. Modesty aside, I do not worry coming to this occasion because with your support and participation our club had accomplished so much in the first six months of our service. In fact, if I will make an elaborate oral presentation, the 7-minute limit given to a President will surely not be enough. I would like to extend my gratitude to IPP Gabe for preparing a very nice power point presentation that suits the 7-minute time limit and for printing several pictures to support my written report. It even boosts more my moral and gave me enough confidence. Nevertheless, I still need your prayers and wishes to ensure a successful presentation.
Before I end, I just want to remind everybody that our membership dues for the second semester (Jan.-June 2005) are already due. To those who are not yet paid, please remit your payment immediately so that we can meet the deadline of January 31, 2005. Likewise, immediate remittance of the proceeds from Centennial Car Raffle is highly requested; this will be used in your registration to Centennial Discon 2005 which will happen on March 10-12, 2005. So let us Celebrate Rotary and start the new century of success.
