Ronilo "Nilo" Nepomuceno
Centennial President
RY 2004-2005

President's Message

Dear fellow Rotarians,

Last week, July 6, 2004, our first regular meeting for RY 2004-2005 was held. When I hold the gavel and called the meeting into order, there was a mix feeling of nervousness and excitement. Nervousness because Rotary International and District 3810 had put a gargantuan task in my shoulder as Centennial President. We have to achieve the district goals and meet the centennial challenge in line with the celebration of 100 years of Rotary.  Aside from the fact that we have to continue the several worthy projects that RC CEPZ had done in the past.  Excitement because my presidency gives me a better opportunity to serve our less fortunate brothers and sisters. As an individual, I could not feed 142 malnourished children, give medical and dental services to hundreds of patients, send to school 2 college and 4 high school students, provide a Day Care Center to a barangay, and books and computers to a public school. But as President of RC CEPZ, with your full support and cooperation, I have now a greater chance of helping our needy fellowmen.

So, to get the right momentum in our year of service, RC CEPZ had launched a Feeding Program on July 9, 2004 at Tejeros Convention Elementary School where we fed about 200 malnourished students. Congratulations to Community Service Director Amy Llave in her first community project; our sincerest thank to those who joined us and gave their support - IPP Gabe Trias, PP Jess Cabel, Sec. Marni Sy, Treas. Ony Ferrer, Rtn. Dante Quindoza, Rtn. Jeck Quilapio, baby Rotarians Jackie Lontoc, Rex Sison and Norma Valeroso, the Rotaractors, and Rtn. Ken Wada who also represents Tsukuba Philippine Diecasting Corp. as the major benefactor of our weekly feeding program. I would like also to thank the school principal, Mrs. Editha Atendido and her staff for their warm welcome and reception to us, and acknowledge the presence of Bgy. Captain Tony Luna of Bgy. Tejeros Convention and his son, Councilor Mao Luna of Rosario.

As I told you in my last week’s message, I thought our long preparation is over, but no I was wrong. Only last weekend, July 10-11, 2004, all the Centennial Presidents of the Solid Cavite Clubs and the Assistant Governors for Cavite had Area Teambuilding Training at Villaluz Resort in Silang, Cavite. The objective of the training is to develop camaraderie and build a better relationship among the members of Solid Cavite Centennial Team.

In closing, I hope to see you more in every project that we launch, your mere presence gives me a great inspiration to serve and succeed this rotary year. There is no better way to Celebrate Rotary than with your own Rotary Family.
