President's Message
07/27/2004

Dear fellow Rotarians,

Time flies so fast. Today is our last meeting for the month of July (huhh! 48 more weeks to go). But I am satisfied at the rate we are going. Projects are implemented in accordance with our plans and schedules. The Medical-Dental Mission, which is originally scheduled sometime in October, is even to be held in advance this coming Saturday, July 31, 2004 from 7:00AM to 12:00NN at the covered court of Barangay Tejeros Convention, Rosario, Cavite. So I am inviting everybody to participate and fulfill our mission of providing medical treatment and medicines to our fellowmen who cannot afford to go to a hospital or to a doctor for their ailments.

We might also have a new major project through the idea of Zone Administrator and Rtn. Dante Quindoza and through the effort of former Zone Administrator and Rtn. Ray Nagrampa. Well, who could ask for more if your two bosses are giving their 100% support and sharing their great ideas for the success of our club this rotary year. Thank you Sirs! But I could not give you yet the details of the project until initial coordination with the concerned parties is done. I will keep you update on this.

Last week I failed to recognize Mr. Michael Kuo of Shi-Tai Mfg. and Mr. Mike Chen of Tung Fong Industries for their donation of damaged but repairable computers for our “Donate A Computer” project. Thanks to these Taiwanese investors who are also our regular benefactors. Dir. Amy Llave prepared a delicious menu (lomi) for the 3rd week of our feeding program. The smell almost tempted me to grab one cup and have my merienda together with our beneficiaries. Again, I would like to acknowledge the presence and support of IPP Gabe Trias, PP Jess Cabel, PP Boyet Castro, Rtn. Dante Quindoza, Rtn. Jackie Lontoc, Rotaractors, and of course, Dir. Amy Llave. Also, let me take this opportunity to congratulate AG Maeng Mercado for being recognized by the District as a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and PP Alex Cayaba for being included in the Paul Harris Families by virtue of his donation and making his Ann Amelia and daughter Alisandra as Paul Harris Fellows. A donation of US$1,000.00 to The Rotary Foundation will give you recognition of a Paul Harris Fellow.

Congratulations to Pres. Mary Grace Labrador and Pres. Gregorio “JayAr” Anda, Jr. of Rotaract Club of CEPZ and CEPZ West respectively for their Induction last Saturday, July 24, 2004 during the District Rotaract Handover Ceremonies held at Casa Marinero, Intramuros, Manila. The event is featured today in Manila Bulletin.

In my message last week, I greeted IPP Gabe on his ?th birthday. This week I would like to greet the rest of the July celebrants- belated happy birthday to PRO Romy Bontigao who celebrated his birthday last July 2, and happy birthday, today! July 27 to PP Boyet Castro (blow out naman!). God Bless and More Power! to our July celebrants and let us continue CELEBRATE ROTARY!
