Ronilo "Nilo" Nepomuceno
Dear fellow Rotarians,
There is no better way to celebrate the 100th year Anniversary of Rotary than through the implementation of worthy projects. In the morning of February 23, 2005, the exact date of the Centennial Year of Rotary, AG Maeng Mercado had immunized the first batch of beneficiaries for our MMR Immunization Project which is funded by our approved Matching Grant. Again, my sincerest thank to AG Maeng for personally implementing this project. In the afternoon of the same day, we had the simple Inauguration and Turnover of our Centennial Community Project, the Day Care Center/Library at Tejeros Convention Elementary School. Our guests were Brgy. Chairman Antonio Luna of Brgy Tejero and SDG/Chief of Staff Lorry Hallare representing District Governor Joel Tinitigan. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Rtn. Jun Ducat, our major benefactor for this project. There will be a special Inauguration and Turnover of this project wherein more special guests shall be invited and our benefactors shall be accorded proper recognition.
In regard to the centenary of Rotary, a brief history of Rotary and short biographies of its founders are featured in this week’s issue of the EXPONENT. I encourage everyone, especially the Baby Rotarians to read the article.
As part of the celebration, a Centennial DISCON (District Conference) shall be held on March 10-12, 2005 in Manila Hotel, the home of the first and oldest club in Asia the Rotary Club of Manila. The host club, the Rotary Club of Rosario has promised an array of events extravaganza to fit the grandiose celebration of Rotary’s first century of success. So I am inviting everybody to please join me in the Centennial DISCON as this will be also a memorable event for me as the Centennial President of the Rotary Club of CEPZ. Together, let us Enjoy and Celebrate Rotary!
