President's Message

Dear fellow Rotarians,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone present during the Governor’s Visit last November 18, 2004. Your presence had boosted my morale and gave me the confidence to meet our District Governor and report to him our accomplishments together with our Directors for the different avenues of service. Second, I would like to congratulate everybody for a job well done during our first 4 ½ months of service; after hearing all our accomplishments, DG Joel had given us the rating of VERY GOOD! My sincerest gratitude to our hardworking Officers and Directors and to our members who are very supportive in every project that we had. I hope you can keep that zealousness to help and serve others.

Another big event we had last week was the RC CEPZ Investor’s Cup Golf Tournament last Sunday, November 21, at Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club. It was a successful fellowship and fund raising activity with a total of 121 players and 61 sponsors. In behalf of the Officers and Members of RC CEPZ, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation and gratitude to our major sponsors, benefactors and hole sponsors, most especially to Mayor Luis “Jonjon” Ferrer IV of Gen. Trias who had personally called up the management of Eagle Ridge Golf & Country Club to arrange a special package for us to minimize our expenses in this tournament. Also, my sincerest thank to Zone Administrator and Rtn. Dante Quindoza for his 100% support for the success of the tournament; aside from co-signing with me the invitation letter, he personally accompanied me in inviting our sponsors/donors in and out of the zone. Likewise, my special thank to PP Jess Cabel for his usual extra time and effort in inviting sponsors and players and taking care of even the smallest details just to assure the success of our tournament; and to other Rotarians who had supported and helped us – Sec. Marni Sy, Dir. Amy Llave, Rtn. Liza Lallana and Rtn. Connie Gonzaga for the Reception and Registration Committee, IPP Gabe Trias and his assistant for preparing that wonderful powerpoint presentation featuring the Club’s Plans and Projects and the names of our sponsors for the tournament, PE Ray Nagrampa as our impromptu emcee, Dir. Egay Montano and Dir. Masahiro Miyata for inviting players and sponsors, Vice Pres. Cyril Salamanque and Rtn. Delfin Abarro who were among our hole sponsors, Dir. James Huang who played along and entertained some of our players, and of course Treas. Ony Ferrer for helping us meet his brother, Mayor Jonjon Ferrer for that special assistance I mentioned earlier.

When I was asked by DG Joel Tinitigan (during our private conference as part of the Governor’s Visit) what is the strength of our Club, I just pause for a while and readily told him that it is the CAMARADERIE and FRIENDSHIP that make RC CEPZ a STRONG CLUB. So I hope that we will remain together as we CELEBRATE ROTARY! And fulfill the Rotary’s Motto: SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
