President's Message

Dear fellow Rotarians,

The District Jobs Fair had kicked off in Cavite Economic Zone last October 11, 2004, Monday, which was hosted by RC CEPZ in coordination with the Chairperson of District Jobs Fair, Rtn. Maricor Malitao of RC Chinatown. My sincerest gratitude to the 15 companies who participated in the mentioned activity, namely, House Technology Industries Pte. Ltd., SCAD Services Pte. Ltd., Wu Kong Pte. Ltd., Asaba Mfg. Phils., Philippine Advance Processing Technology, Inc., Mega Electronics Phils., Inc., Shin Hung Plastic Co., Heavy Duty Packaging Corp., Post Season Phils. Corp., Iriso Elec. Phils., Inc., Midland Mfg. Phils., Inc., Park Apparel Mfg. Phils., Inc., Phil. Bobbin Corp., Bridgestone Precision Molding Phils.; all of Cavite Economic Zone, and Standout Service Contracting Corp. from Quezon City. There were more than 1,000 applicants who were given the opportunities to be screened and interviewed. Thanks to the support of other Rotarians, IPP Gabe Trias, PP Jess Cabel, Sec. Marni Sy, Treas. Ony Ferrer, Dir. Anne Bawalan, Rtn. Norma Valeroso and ZA & Rtn. Dante Quindoza. Special thanks also to Rtn. Maricor Malitao who helped us in screening the applicants.

In line also with the observance of October as the Vocational Service Month, we will be launching the search for the Ten Most Outstanding Workers of CEZ. This time, it will be a joint project with the Cavite Export Zone Investors Association (CEZIA) through its Human Resource and Administrative Group (HRAG). Mr. Jose Cabral IV of Clarion Mfg. Phils. Corp and the CEZIA-HRAG Director In-Charge had already agreed with our proposal. However, we will be asking some inputs from his group to improve the mechanics of the search. Probably within this week we can finalize everything.

Congratulations to our 12 Rotaractors from RAC CEPZ and RAC CEPZ-West for their participation in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) 2004. This annual event for the youth was held on October 9-10, 2004 at Sacramento Valley, Tanay, Rizal. Thanks again to the able leadership of Pres. Grace Labrador and Pres. Jun Anda.

Of course, the week is not complete without our feeding program every Friday at Tejeros Convention Elementary School. I would thank again those Rotarians who were there every week to support and help us in this project. My deepest appreciation also to E.C. Caldejon Construction for sponsoring the 14th week of our feeding program.

As we are approaching the end of our 1st semester in service, we shall need funds to continuously implement our remaining projects for the 2nd semester. My sincerest thanks to PP Jess Cabel for conceptualizing our second golf tournament for this Rotary Year which is the RC CEPZ Investor’s Cup. So I am appealing anew to everybody to help us raise funds and let us all be together in service as we CELEBRATE ROTARY!
