Dear fellow Rotarians,
Attending the MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR at Casa Marinero, Intramuros, Manila at the height of a typhoon last Saturday was never regrettable. More so if you are with your son who is a baby Rotarian from another Club outside of the District who appears more interested than you are to learn the strategies on Recruitment and Retention! With the exercise, I am being continuously “ROTARIZED” which is necessary considering that I was a replacement PE from the very beginning. It may appear time consuming but is worth the effort.
Membership Recruitment and Retention indeed is a challenging job. How to entice outsiders to join and once a member, to keep him forever as a Rotarian calls for patience and the best understanding of human behavior.
The Ballroom Dancing Fellowship is proving to be an effective tool for membership retention. Some members who were absenting themselves in the past for a variety of reasons suddenly resurfaced because of their love for dancing. As our resource speakers said, involvement in activities where the members would enjoy most is an effective tool for retention.
By the way, our Feeding Program on Friday, August 12th will involve our Rotarians from RC W-ICHEON. Selected Bacao Elementary School pupils prepared some numbers for our guests and their children to see and appreciate. Let’s see what things beautiful will happen by bringing the Koreans to our community project. Sponsor for next Friday’s feeding is Vice-President/PE Amy Reyes-Llave. Last Friday was courtesy of PP Boyet Castro III.
Thank you guys!
