RC CEPZ CvSU-R Potable Water Project Unveiled

May 16, 2008, Cavite State University-Rosario - RC CEPZ Sharing President Marni Sy and RC Soo-Ji President Kim Kwan-Gyo representing RC West Icheon cut the ceremonial ribbon officially opening the water station applied with The Rotary Foundation Matching Grant #64498. The second unit of the same project recently unveiled at Rosario National High School will provide free drinking water to more than 2,500 students of the school adopted by Rotary Club of Cavite Export Processing Zone.

Honorable Mayor Nonong Ricafrente, accepting the invitation to become a member of RC CEPZ, lauded RC CEPZ and RC West Icheon's initiative in providing 2 units of the filtration system to two of their adopted schools in the community. District Secretary Connie Beltran, accompanied by Senior District Governor Art San Jose delivered District Governor Paco Atayde's message to the group. Other members of RC CEPZ present during the unveiling are: President-Elect Roland Paita, Past President & Community Service Director Boyet Castro, Rtn. Dante Quindoza, Incoming Treasurer Ding Arias, Rtn. Dick Maza  and Rtn. Joel Lopez.

The newly formed Rotary Community Corps of Cavite State University-Rosario Faculty Association represented by RCC Representative Cutie Mercado, a Rotarian member of the Rotary Club of Tanza and a faculty member of the school with the President of the RCC Lucila Berbie were presented by President Marni and President Kim Kwan-Gyo representing RC West Icheon with their official charter certificate issued by Rotary International. The RCC was organized to specifically carry out the Potable Water Project introduced by RC CEPZ at Cavite State University-Rosario. The new RCC will manage and maintain the project in cooperation with the school administration and RC CEPZ. A Memorandum of Agreement between the corps, school administration and RC CEPZ has been developed to identify and implement the different aspects of management and maintenance needed to keep the project going.
