RC CEPZ's RY 2008-2009 Career Development Program

December 17, 2008 - Rotary Club of Cavite Export Processing Zone conducted a Career Development Program in cooperation with the school administration of Rosario National High School. Ms. Eduarda M. Zapanta, the school's Officer-In-Charge and the school adviser for the Interact Club of Rosario National High School and the RCC RNHS PTCA adopted the program as an annual event for the graduating students of the school. Highlight of the program is a career talk of different professionals in their own chosen field. For the first time, Ms. Chauntia "Shawie" Chan - a student of De La Salle University-Taft, shared her experiences in landing at the course she's currently taking at De La Salle. Other speakers include: Ms. Joanne Michelle "Bambam" Gonzales - Government Service, PP Gabe Trias - Computer Technology, PP Maeng Mercado - Medicine and Legacy President Vilma Rico of Rotary Club of Hiyas ng Bacoor - Personality Development.

Developed and implemented during the term of Sharing President Marni, a Career Development Program - "Susi ng Kinabukasan", the Rotary Club of CEPZ and the adopted school of Rosario National High School envisioned this program in guiding and assisting the graduating students in selecting the path to their professional career. This year, under the leadership of Legacy President Roland Paita and with the coordination of Rosario National High School Administration and the blessings from Mrs. Celedonia M. Sulit, the school Principal,  the program has been adopted by the school declaring an annual Career Orientation Program.

Mrs. Eduarda M. Zapanta, the school adviser of Interact Club of Rosario National High School and RCC RNHS PTCA, coordinated the whole day affair with Rotary Club of CEPZ offering Rotarians to speak on their professional career. For the first time, a current student from De La Salle University-Taft, Chauntia "Shawie" Chan, shared her experiences in landing at the course she's taking currently at De La Salle. Ms. Joanne Michelle "Bambam" Gonzales  presented her story as she became the Municipal Administrator of Rosario, Cavite. PP Gabe Trias spoke on the importance of computer knowledge in any of the career they would take. PP Maeng Mercado presented his struggles and triumphs in becoming the Hospital Administrator of Divine Grace Medical Center and Legacy President Vilma Rico of Rotary Club of Hiyas ng Bacoor who gave a lecture on Personality Development.

Also offered during the program are different schools in the area presenting their courses they offer. Schools who participated in the program include: STI College Rosario, PMMS Colleges, ACTEC, St. Dominic College of Arts & Sciences and National College of Science & Technology.

 

The more than 500 4th Year High School students of Rosario National High School benefited in the Career Development Program of RC CEPZ.
