The RYLA Awardees were recognized during a luncheon formal awarding on April 8, 2006 at the Manila Hotel. All winners received trophies as they were joined by other RYLA awardees from Australia, Malaysia, Macau, Hong Kong and Indonesia during the entire seminar.

The Rotary Club of Ramon Magsaysay, a service organization under Rotary International District 3810 which covers Manila, Pasay, Cavite and Mindoro Occidental hosted this year's Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). This year was a different RYLA as we focused on a different level of searching, nominating and awarding the winners.

On March 29, 2006, CP Beng de Guzman of RC Ramon Magsaysay, District Chairman for RYLA, announced the complete list of the winners of this year's RYLA:

The awardees attended a two day live-in Leadership seminar on April 6-7, 2006, at the Robbinsdale Hotel in Manila where the RYLA participants received training from successful professionals, with special emphasis on the importance of ethics and community service. The search for this year's winners and awardees was chosen by the district judged by their outstanding leadership and excellence in his/her contribution to the cause of humanity. All qualifying nominees was screened and interviewed by a panel of judges. In essence, proof of nominees' outstanding contributions to his/her fellowmen constitute the basis for the RYLA Award.

The Rotary Club of Cavite Export Processing Zone and Rotary Club of Ramon Magsaysay are part of Rotary Internationalís global network of more than 31,000 clubs in 166 countries sponsoring the nominee. Rotary International consists of 1.2 million professionals who volunteer to improve the quality of life in their home and world communities. Through service efforts, Rotary club members help promote understanding and peace throughout the world. Rotary clubs support programs that address todayís most critical issues, including hunger, health care, the environment, illiteracy, and youth development.
